Limes Park homes are proving popular
More than 120 homes are now occupied on the Bryant Homes development of environmentally friendly properties at Limes Park on the edge of Basingstoke.
Bryant, which became part of the Taylor Wimpey group last summer is one of the developers working with English Partnerships building a new scheme of houses and apartments in the grounds of the old Park Prewett hospital.
Some of the occupiers of the Bryant Homes development have been helped onto the property ladder with the Government sponsored First Time Buyers' Initiative, which is being run in conjunction with Swaythling Housing Association. The development had 29 properties being offered under the initiative, which is a shared equity scheme that allows people fulfilling certain criteria to buy with a minimum contribution of 50% of the full asking price. But time is running out, as only one 2 bedroom home is still available on this scheme, priced at £189,995.
Current availability on the development ranges from a 1 bedroom apartment at £165,000 through to a 4 bedroom, mid-terraced house at £320,000.
For more information call the developer on 0845 0265041.
Bryant Homes opened its Limes Park development abut 18 months ago and has a five-year-build programme to complete the scheme, where it is offering Part Exchange deals on some plots. Although some properties have gone to investment buyers, the development has a high owner-occupier level, which ranges from first time buyers to families.
Despite doom and gloom stories coming out of the property market, sales manager Sally Prince believes now is a good time to buy. She said: "Sales are holding up very well here. The message is 'if you want to move you can'. Most people have got equity in their homes and this is the best time to make a move because, if you want to move upmarket, the gap in prices is narrowing."
The energy efficiency and green specification of the development, which includes bat boxes, is appealing to buyers. Mrs Prince said: "There's a big emphasis on being eco-friendly at Limes Park and that's important as we're trying to become more aware of our environment."
Bryant Homes now has a Gillies design Showhome open, in which the accommodation is spread over three floors. On the ground floor, a lifestyle kitchen and living area has doors out to the garden and there is a family or television room. The sitting room is on the first floor, along with the master bedroom and an en suite shower room. Two more bedrooms and the family bathroom are in the eaves space.
