Success is a mixture of old and new

Over 300 homes are now occupied at Limes Park, Basingstoke and a village community has come to life.

The newly formed Homes & Communities Agency is working closely with English Heritage to ensure that the buildings and landscape of historic significance are preserved.  At Limes Park these include the Clock Tower, Water Tower and the former Garden Pavilions.

Because this is such a historically significant site, development is being handled very sensitively.  New build homes have been specially designed to complement the existing buildings with extensive use of natural slate, traditional brickwork and timber framed windows.  As many materials as possible have been taken from sustainable sources.  Wherever possible trees, especially specimen trees are being preserved and great care has been taken not to disturb the resident fauna.

Limes Park will include designated cycle routes, preserved public open spaces and new bus services to connect with main routes and provide an alternative to the car for residents who will have wonderful leafy surroundings in which to walk, jog or cycle in peace.

Limes Park occupies a superb location, just over two miles from Basingstoke and the centre with access to the A33 for Basingstoke to Reading plus the M4, the A339 Basingstoke to Newbury and M3 and with Basingstoke itself so close, every kind of modern-day amenity is there to be enjoyed plus non-stop rail services to Waterloo.

The developers involved in creating the new community are Bryant Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon, Charles Church and Carey Homes, all of whom are building the latest eco friendly new build designs.  Thomas Homes is converting the Edwardian hospital building into houses and apartments of distinct character with high ceilings and tall windows.

Prices for the newly built homes start at £145,000 and currently a range of homes is available from two to five bedrooms.
